Breast Augmentation

In breast augmentation surgeries, prostheses are inserted in 3 ways: Around the areola (the brown area on the nipple), under the breast fold area or the armpit line.

Silicone implants can be placed just behind the breast tissue (in front of the muscle) or behind the muscle. In these surgeries performed under general anesthesia, a one-night stay in the hospital is sufficient. The recovery process is generally quite fast in these surgeries, which are pleasing in terms of seeing the result immediately. Patients can easily return to work 3 days after surgery.

There is no evidence that the implants cause cancer and the implants, which are further developed with the developing technology, are used safely. These prostheses generally do not prevent breastfeeding. In addition, imaging methods such as mammography and MRI can be used after this surgery.

The most important complication that can be seen in breast augmentation surgeries is capsule formation. Unfortunately, it is not possible to detect this problem, which is very rare, before it occurs. In this case, a hard structure surrounding the breast implant is formed and the implant may need to be removed.

In order to obtain an aesthetically beautiful breast, weight should be avoided. Considering the patient's height, shoulder width, breast diameter and skin characteristics, an implant of appropriate size should be placed. Otherwise, the prosthesis contour may stand out in a rounded shape and naturalness is lost.
